VIP day

Breakfast is in the mess of BKOKS from 0700 Hrs till 0745 Hrs. The daily morning briefing is between 0800 Hrs and 0830 Hrs and this is for every team member! The briefing ‘Flying contest part 2’ is from 0830 Hrs on and is only open for the team captains on their specified hour. After this individual briefing, a short time period is given to the team to prepare their mission. The flying part is between 0930 Hrs and 1230 Hrs. The VIPs are brought to surf club Windekind in OOSTDUINKERKE where they are welcomed and offered a drink and, depending on the weather, can take place inside or outside to watch the ‘precision winching event’ at low tide, close to the surf club. The police and fire department KOKSIJDE are on the spot to secure the safety around the ‘winching ‘ area and to guarantee a safe distance from the spectators. In the Ops Zone a lunch is offered between 1100 Hrs and 1300 Hrs. From 1330 Hrs there is a team building contest where the full team, air crew and ground crew, prove, using their spirit of cooperation and good sense, that they can succeed in certain tests. After these tests the competitors are given a moment’s rest. The respective teams are brought back to Liefoord to get changed in full-dress uniform to attend the reception and the prize distribution. In the meantime the VIPs are expected in the bar of 40° Squadron where they can have a drink and stay and talk for a while. In the late afternoon there is an official prize distribution in the 40° Squandron followed by a reception, open to VIPs, members of the organisation and competitors. After the reception everybody is to attend dinner, followed by a party with live-music in the Herpain.
